We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Hightower’s new album Club Dragon (listen below), which is scheduled to be officially released through KROD Records on September 15th. You can pre-order the album here: KROD Records | Hightower
What inspired your new album, Club Dragon?
The name of our new album comes from an episode of Family Matters where Steve Urkel has to join a gang named “Club Dragon.”
It’s been almost two years since you released your previous album Sure. Fine. Whatever. What’s changed for the band in that time and how has that affected this album?
We welcomed Attila on vocals who comes from Hungary on this new album. Attila’s voice is very different, it’s more melodic and we had to change the way we write melodies.
This album has been recorded with the splendid Steve Evetts, why have you decided to work with him again?
He did a great job as a producer on our first record, so we wanted to work with again on this record.
Is there a message you want people to leave with this album?
Songs on Club Dragon are reflections of our experiences in life; throughout the album we’re trying to share what our frustrations are made of. If there was only one message to leave it’d be: “Don’t let anyone tell you how to live.”
And what’s next for the band?
There are gonna be a release party in Budapest next month and we’re also planning on touring Europe in 2018.
Anything else you want to feel like people should know?
We released a first video of the song “The party” in May (watch below), and we’re gonna release a new one in September for the song “Kvlt.”
