We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of The Sharp Shadows’ album Lessons (listen below), which is scheduled to be officially released on August 31, 2018 through Dadstache Records. You can purchase the album here.

The Sharp Shadows songwriter Stephen Bailey commented on the album:

‘Lessons’ is a weird culmination of things that wasn’t supposed to work. When we were writing the songs, there didn’t seem to be a theme connecting them all. It took until I had the lyrics laid out in front of me when we were deciding on the track order that I realized that there was this connective tissue of kind of… hard fought learning through experience. Be it the sort of finger-wagging social media cautionary tale of ‘Why Don’t You Do It?’ or the two sided examination of an argument that makes up ‘Don’t Say You’re Sorry To Me’ and ‘Push Push Push.’ Ultimately, I just think it’s an examination of trying to hold yourself accountable when dealing with others, and the various pitfalls that can happen when you try to do that. Not only that, but trying to actually take something from those experiences so you aren’t just making the same mistakes over and over again.
