Video Premiere: Summerteeth – “Stay Warm”

Summerteeth

“Coming out of recording, it was a no brainer that ‘Stay Warm’ would be the single. We brainstormed a bunch of different ideas before eventually settling on the appropriate, video treatment. Thanks to the typical Canadian long winter/late spring, we seized the first nice day we had and packed as much summer into it as possible.” – Summerteeth

Summerteeth - Stay Warm

About the new song:

New single “Stay Warm” by Summerteeth glimmers with sunshine indebted melodies, catapulting the listener into a hook-filled reverie. The guitars weave in and out of classic arpeggiated lines, before commanding your attention with driving power chords, as the rhythm section locks you into the undeniable groove, propelling the song forward. A uplifting concoction.

The song amplifies their original Jimmy Eat World, & Weezer influences with a strong dose of contemporaries Turnover & Moose Blood, creating a sound that takes a classic emo driven approach, with one foot placed directly in a pop foundation.

Their sophomore EP, Sweet Nothing, was born out of a renewed sense of optimism. It allowed the band to really step back, figure out the kind of music they wanted to make. “Stay Warm” exemplifies this optimism, as the barrels through the song with extreme confidence.
