News: The Chisel Return for New Album and Tour

The Chisel

The Chisel are an English punk band formed in London back in early 2020. They began when Nicholas Sarnella and Callum Graham talked about starting a band. After a few of these conversations, Charlie Manning-Walker was brought on, and the trio began with Sarnella as vocalist, Graham as drummer, and Manning-Walker as guitarist. After they released their first EP in 2020, Deconstructive Surgery, the trio brought in two new members, second guitarist Luke Younger and bassist Tom Ellis.

As a five-piece band, they went ahead and released two more EPs and a studio album. Over time, they have had multiple lineup changes. Back in 2022, Ellis left, and Momo took his place for a year before leaving the role to Jean De L’Arbalete, who left in 2023. Also in 2023, Sarnella left, and Lee Munday was brought in. The current lineup is: Graham on vocals, Manning-Walker and Younger on guitars, L’Arbalete on bass, and Munday on drums.

Moving forward, they are going to be releasing their second studio album What a Fucking Nightmare on February 9, 2024, recorded by John Atkinson and produced by Jonah Falco. It’s been described as a high-energy album of Oi! hooks and hardcore stomp. The Chisel have already put out the lead single “Fuck ‘Em” as well as a bonus single “Cry Your Eyes Out.” Graham said that “Cry Your Eyes Out” is about people who talk but don’t have much to say: gobshites and over-opinionated knobheads.
