The Matches Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary Of ‘Decomposer’ with Shows

Oakland’s The Matches have announced a limited run of US tour dates to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their critically acclaimed sophomore album Decomposer. The original line-up: Justin San Souci, Jon Devoto, Matt Whalen and Shawn Harris will play Decomposer in its entirety for the first time ever. Audiences can expect the band to perform additional fan favourites from their extensive catalog, including the first new tracks since their last release in 2008.

Originally released in 2006 via Epitaph Records, Decomposer draws upon the band’s diverse musical influences and highlights their genre-bending songwriting that effortlessly moves between art-rock, punk and alternative rock. The Matches worked alongside a long list of noteworthy producers including Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, Goldfinger’s John Feldmann, Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, 311’s Nick Hexum and Epitaph Records’ Brett Gurewitz, making this album one of their most essential.

In 2014, The Matches reunited after a five-year hiatus to play nine sold out shows across the US and Australia to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals. This past fall, The Matches released a limited edition 7” with new singles “Life of a Match” and “Crucial Come Back Song (Marie Claire).” The band wrapped up 2015 with two back-to-back sold-out shows in San Francisco at The Fillmore. See below for tour dates.
