We’re pleased to bring you the premiere if Tim.’s music video for their song “Home Alone” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Wasted Youth, which will be available through Bandcamp on March 9, 2018.
Life beyond your teenage years is learning to navigate the minefield of awkward house parties and in an attempt to fit in. But through these uncomfortable situations, you manage to make the friends you need to get through it all together. Michigan’s Tim. express their disdain for trying to fit in their beer-soaked music video for the song, “Home Alone.”
In “Home Alone,” Tim. walk you through the typical party scene, complete with the awkward small talk with strangers and clouds of cigarette smoke wafting in from the backyard. Despite the exhausting nature of these kinds of interactions, there’s hope in vocalist Trevor Swanson’s voice. While parties have the potential to be disastrous, there’s always the possibility of new friendships and relationships to be formed. “‘Home Alone’ was written in a time in my life where I was trying to overcome self-isolation to become social,” explains Swanson. “This song is about feeling you have when you see someone that gives you hope. Even though you might not know them, just catching their eye fills you with feelings promise of something new.”
Sonically, Tim. strike a balance between catchy, hook-driven alternative rock of the early aughts and the lyrical transparency of modern emo. The result is music that is deceitfully bright and brutally honest. Wasted Youth is a personal collection of songs that chronicles the band’s awkward journey through life. While they may not know where they’ll end up, Tim. are simply determined to move forward, making music that people can dance and cry to along the way.
Tim. are playing a release show in their hometown of Muskegon, Michigan on March 9th at Unruly Brewing with Vines and Chef
Goldblum.
