Today’s New Noise: Bangladeafy

Bangladeafy

Happy Friday, rockers! Bangladeafy are a synth-punk band out of New York. They’ve recently announced their new album Vulture will be coming out on June 21 from Nefarious Industries, and the video for the first single, “Beautification,” is now streaming on YouTube.

“Beautification” may be a guitar-less synth punk song, but the lack of guitars doesn’t weaken the punk aggression in this song one bit. The relentless rhythm drives the song home, and the synths are punchy and fast, like The Screamers meet Lightning Bolt. It’s a noisy, fun, catchy tune that’s packed with punk energy. Add to that the fact that the synth player and vocalist Jon Ehlers has sensorineural hearing loss which requires hearing aids, and this song is a stunning musical feat that bodes well for the full album when it comes out. The viscerally powerful music video is simply a barrage of images of death, decay, and scavenging as it happens in nature all wrapped up in neon psychedelia. Check out the trippy video below.

The band are embarking on an East Coast tour that kicks off on Saturday. Check out the full list of dates below:
