Big Orange are an alternative rock band from Perth, Australia. They’ve got a new album coming out in August called The Perils of Desire, and they recently released a single from it on their Bandcamp called “This Won’t Hurt a Bit.”
“This Won’t Hurt a Bit” is a trip-hop tinged tune that harkens back to the ’90s when alternative rock borrowed from electronic genres freely. It’s got a surreal, laid-back, ethereal element to the track that effortlessly creates a grand scale of haunting melodies. The track is, at times, breezy and light and, at other times, heavy and foreboding, and the two different moods balance each other out quite nicely. Check out the track below:
