Earlier this month, electronic outfit Empires in Orbit released their latest studio album, Audiodrome. The project is the first to include newly added lead singer Fe Malefiz, and cements the group’s most dynamic musical era yet. Swiftly moving across genres, Audiodrome explores everything from ambient to industrial to alternative pop and everything in between. Empires in Orbit refuse to limit themselves to one single soundscape, and Audiodrome is the result of such unabashed creativity.
Whether it’s the heavy, dark pop-inspired “Cat Eyes” or the atmospheric “Before I Wake,” Empire in Orbit’s latest musical effort captures the attention of listeners through intentional production, melodic vocal elements, and catchy hooks. No matter what musical subgenre a track is born from, the through line of Audiodrome is intense emotion and the vivid imagery that is invoked through listening.
