Today’s New Noise: Flowerbomb

Flowerbomb are an alternative rock band from Washington, D.C. They have a new EP coming out on January 19 called Gloom Scroll Vol. 1 on Mutineer Records, and they recently released a video off the EP called “I Don’t Wanna Know,” which is streaming now on YouTube.

The band describe their sound as a combination of “alternative, 90’s indie rock, bubblegrunge, shoegaze, post-punk, and twang” which certainly shines through on “I Don’t Wanna Know.” It’s got fuzzy guitars and powerful vocal melodies, but it’s the addition of the gorgeous keyboard playing that really creates a hook for this song. The video, directed by Mitchel Worley of mwfilms, depicts vocalist and keyboardist Rachel Kline arriving late to a recording session with her band and, after being chewed out by their producer, chooses to leave the recording session to go off on her own for the day. Check out the video below.

You can preorder Gloom Scroll Vol. 1 on the Flowerbomb Bandcamp. Follow Flowerbomb on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for future updates.
