Welcome to the working week, rockers! We’ve got a really unique one for you this Monday. Likane Leppäne is a Memphis-influenced noise rapper from Oulu, Finland. Don’t worry if you don’t speak Finnish, because this is a lot of fun in any language. Leppäne just put out a new video for the single “L.I.K.A.N.E. pt 2” from the upcoming solo tape Psykosomaattista Saundia. The new video is now streaming on YouTube.
With its noisy keyboard elements and lo-fi production, “L.I.K.A.N.E. pt 2” is either a very low-budget affair or else it’s designed to look and sound low-budget. The beat is infectious and, despite the language barrier, the song gives a distinct “fuck the world” energy. This is complimented perfectly by the video with its cheap video effects and images of anti-social behavior that give this rap song a sort of punk rock edge. The full album promises to be a hell of a good time. Check out the video below.
