Welcome to the last Friday before the holiday break for most of us. I’ve got an early present for you. Like Roses are a femme-forward emo band from the Bay Area in California. They recently released a new video for their new single called “Stuck,” and you can find it on YouTube.
Like Roses have all the clever emo charm of Grumpster with a touch more Silverchair in the guitars. “Stuck” is a powerhouse emo ballad with a thunderous attitude. With a melody to die for and a pop hook that just might actually kill you, the song can knock you on your ass. The quiet simplicity of the video which simply sees the band playing the song while vocalist Amy Schmalkuche wanders from room to room perfectly contrasts the beautiful noise of the song itself.
