Stay Shut are a punk band from Gothenburg, Sweden who seek to pay tribute to the great punk bands of the ’90s. They recently released their debut demo, which is currently streaming on their Bandcamp.
The demo starts with “Get Out,” a shout-along punk anthem with gruff vocals and a stomping beat that makes it feel like a modern punk classic. Then “Last Common Sense” picks up the pace a little bit with a Bad Religion-style hardcore track that mirrors the legendary punk band’s rhythm and sense of melody.
“Shutter” is a melodic skate punk tune that will instantly transport you to the best days of the ’90s punk scene. The whole thing ends on “Hold Us Up,” a fast-paced melodic hardcore number with a powerful vocal performance that will have you searching for the lyrics so you can sing along. This is the perfect throwback to the best days of punk rock for anyone looking to bask in some punk nostalgia.
