Storefront Church is the alt-rock/indie rock solo project of Lukas Frank out of Los Angeles, California. The project put out a new single today called “The High Room” which is currently streaming on YouTube.
“The High Room” has a bit of a baroque pop vibe to it, with its lush orchestration that includes piano and violin, making for something epic in scope and gorgeous in its melody. Frank’s vocals add a yearning earnestness to the song that heightens the emotional content of an already emotionally layered song. The point towards the end when the song slows down and all the instruments fade out except for piano and the vocals puts the perfect coda on the end of an already beautiful composition.
