Welcome to the working week, rockers! Start your week in the queerest way humanly possible with trans-punk and self-described “slut rock” duo Um, Jennifer? Earlier this year, the duo put out their new EP The Girl Class and followed it up with the single “Went On T.” Their newest single is called “Fishy,” and it’s streaming on all platforms, with the lyric video on YouTube.
“Fishy” is an fun, angular rocker with tongue-in-cheek lyrics that highlight the trans experience without getting bogged down in the more depressing sides of trans culture. Rather, it’s a flashy and funny song presented with bombastic bravado and a hipster sense of irony. Who said queer people don’t have a sense of humor? Check out the lyric video below.
