Welcome to the working week, rockers! We’ve got a brand new band for you to check out today, and I literally mean brand new. Wifey are a power pop band out of Brooklyn, New York, and they just put out their debut single called “Mary Ann Leaves the Band” which is currently streaming on their Bandcamp.

“Mary Ann Leaves the Band” has a classic, soaring pop melody with a glorious pop hook that you’ll be humming for days. The humorous song tells the story of a high school band that starts to fall apart when one of their members starts becoming more interested in the guy she’s dating than the band. The funniest part is at the end when it’s revealed that the guy Mary Ann is dating is a weird, creepy 32-year-old who still lives with his mom and hangs around the high school. As gross as that is, we all knew one of those people in high school, didn’t we? Check out the track below.
