Ohio outfit Farseek have unveiled their latest single, “New Short Haircut.” The track will be out June 11 and is the lead single off of the band’s upcoming EP, Standstill, which will be out in July.

New Noise are proud to premiere “New Short Haircut” below:

Farseek are a rock band from Columbus, OH, dealing in the type of indie soundscapes that appeal to fans of Jeff Rosenstock, Lemuria, and The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die.

“I wrote ‘New Short Haircut’ back in 2018 when I decided to propose to my partner,” a member of the band says. “I tried to make ‘New Short Haircut’ feel genuine while encapsulating the climactic joy of the decision. Around when I was writing the song, my partner was working non-stop on her candidacy exams for her PhD program. The pandemic ended up postponing our wedding twice, which was a let down, to say the least. But, we are getting married on June 12, so I am very excited to release this song before our wedding.”

“New Short Haircut” follows on from the band’s recent full-band reworking of the single, “Natty Daddy,” a minute-long, lo-fi, acoustic track originally featured on their 2016 EP, March.
