San Francisco-based Goof’s music hosts a range of influences, combining distorted, buzzsaw guitars with melodic bass with lyrics about serious issues, paired with driving and uplifting melodies. They are preparing for the release of their debut album, Kill Em All, releasing their new single “Banana Job” ahead of the September 24 LP release.

Goof hit the scene after forming in 2019, finding themselves opening for punk legends like Agent Orange and The Avengers before the pandemic hit. They are eager to jump back on the scene with new material and plenty of pent-up energy.

According to a quote from the band, “I used to work in sales doing fundraising and did a number of interviews for companies in San Francisco. Every time I would go into one of those offices, someone would always offer me bananas, and I just thought that was hilarious ’cause all I’m thinking before going in is how much this job is going to suck and make me feel like a monkey. Why am I not making art? Then this person all of a sudden is just like, banana?’

“So this song is about that struggle at a job that makes you feel like a trained monkey, realizing that and deciding to do something that makes you a name and not just another face people will forget.”
