Almost exactly a year after the Columbus, OH band A Tiger Made of Lightning released their first single, “exhausted,” on October 2, 2020, the band are releasing their first EP, It’s Chaos, Be Kind. Along with the new EP, they are also sharing a new video for the title track, featuring Micah SD.
The band were founded by Mike O’Leary, who has since upped the musical roster and added a full band lineup to A Tiger Made of Lightning. Their sounds is reminiscent of the special, early-2000s brand of emo and post-hardcore with uplighting and encouraging lyrics to help the listener focus on what they can control and use to find fulfillment in their own lives.
“Emo is more than just sadness or depression—it’s a feeling that makes you feel alive. And I’m way more interested in writing music that lifts people up, especially in times like these.”
According to a quote from the band discussing the album, “These are the best songs I’ve ever written. It’s a reflection of what I’ve learned over the last 18 months about growing up, taking care of yourself, and what really matters. I hope you love it.”
