Rhode Island pop-punk five-piece Another One Down! are preparing for the release of their debut, full-length album A Bitter Descent, on November 5, and ahead of the drop, they have released a new single and video, titled, “Headspace.”
The band—made up of vocalist Marcus Simonini, lead guitarist Brandon Teh, rhythm guitarist Alex Thetonia, bassist Dylan Walsh, and drummer Ryan Beck—first emerged in 2014, where they have since sold out their EP release shows and played beside a variety of notable acts, even opening the 2018 Vans Warped Tour, and have steadily made a name for themselves in the New England music scene.
The debut record tackles topics around depression, heartbreak, and self-reflection, acting as a reinvention of their sound and boasting musically diverse tracks that stay true to their roots.
The band open up about the new single: “’Headspace’ is about trying to cope with a mentally overwhelming situation that consumes every fiber of your being. Specifically, it is a reflection of a breakup and an attempt to erase the memories and words said from the forefront of your mind. Going back and forth between somber laid-back verses and colossal choruses, the song is as emotional as it is catchy.”
