Another Year Unknown are now streaming their latest single, Love. We asked them a few questions about the track and what they’re up to.

What was the process like for making this video, and what inspired it?
Our lyric video was inspired from a line in the song, “cupids bombs come crashing down this evening.” The lyric helped us decide on the artwork we wanted to use for the release and the style of the video. We wanted the lyrics to appear handwritten so the process of editing took a little bit longer, but it was worth it! In addition to that style, we wanted something creative and engaging as the background – with subtle hints of red because of the “love” theme. Overall, super stoked on the way the video turned out. We spent a lot of hours creating it so hopefully others are into it as well.

What are you most excited about promoting this latest single?
Honestly, just promoting a single that is happy and positive. I feel like the world really needs that right now. Everyone has been dealt something out of their control right now, and as humans, we’re all just trying to make it day by day in these unprecedented times. This song is also very different from our previous releases, almost as if it is more mature than the rest. The idea stemmed from being away from loved ones, and that feeling of missing them. It’s just something that speaks to my heart, brings me joy, and was actually one of the easiest songs for me to create lyrically. Everyone needs love, you know?

How has COVID impacted your musical plans, and how are you getting though?
COVID took a large chunk out of our 2020 plans in the music world for sure – but, I think there are other people who definitely took a larger hit this year and my heart goes out to them. Music, for now, is something we’ve been working on remotely while social distancing – and yeah, we miss performing live like crazy. We’re just hoping that the local venues around the country survive the tough financial times due to COVID so that we can get back on those stages and give the fans our all. Until then, I’ll be singing my heart out inside my home, and recording videos to put out on social media to keep us sane.

Is there anything else specific you want to promote or announce, like socially distanced shows or a livestream?
Lately, we have been working on improving our live stream setup. We’re not sure if this will be the new norm for now, but we’re trying to prepare the best we can. Hoping we can pull some sick live streams together for the fans! Just check out our social media to keep up to date with those.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I would just like to say we’re extremely grateful for everyone’s support during these times. The world is a crazy mess right now, and we’re all going through a lot. I know we can push through it, and stay safe. Just know that when we’re back at that first show, it’s going to be amazing. We have so much more in store for everyone.
