Video Premiere: Baby Acid – “Baby Guts”

Baby Acid - Baby Guts video

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Baby Acid‘s new music video for their song “Baby Guts” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album Don’t Blush When I Rip You Open, which is scheduled to be released on December 9th through Moon Sounds Records.

Don’t Blush When I Rip You Open was recorded at Secret Loft Studios in Brooklyn, NY by Jasno Swarez of The Vandelles and was mastered by none other than Oliver Ackerman of A Place To Bury Strangers.

The band comments on the video:

“The idea behind ‘Baby Guts’ is really about debauchery. Its a song written about my friends here in Brooklyn, partying and doing drugs in the bathroom at bars. The ‘party scenes’ for this video are all candid shots of people I love in their natural environment: meaning with alcohol and probably other substances. We just kind of started filming and let everyone create their own scenes. I would also like to point out that no one was asked to get naked…someone happened to put on that song ‘Sexual Healing’ and shit just got weird. [Laughs]”

Release Show: Friday, December 9th at The Footlight in Brooklyn, NY with Parlor Walls, Ex Girlfriends and Thick

About Baby Acid:

Baby Acid have deemed their genre “grunge gaze” and at their heart is bassist/singer Lindsey Ann Lawless who’s mix of swirling psychadelia and angry fuzz soaked pop songs are refreshing in an era crowded with shoegaze revival acts.  Lawless has shredded her way to the title of “Noise Bass Queen” as she crafts songs out of ear shattering feedback and heavy fuzz tones. Her voice is angsty and unapologetic as she switches back and forth between 90’s riot grrl snarl and reverb-y coos. Baby Acid’s style is influenced by darker noise bands such as The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Raveonettes and A Place to Bury Strangers while also paying tribute to the riot grrl sounds of L7, Babes In Toyland, Bikini Kill and early Hole.
