Ahead of their debut album, Oneself, slated for release March 25, BLACK-OUT ARISES (BOA) are sharing the new video “Rights and Acts,” premiering right here at New Noise.
Originally formed back in 2017 by guitarist Yoann Marrec, bassist Maxim Fedotov, and drummer Leo Goudaroulis, BOA are one of Paris’ newest and most promising proponents of hard-hitting, underground rock. Their sound hark back to the glory days of ’90s, U.S. alt-rock from the likes of Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, and The Smashing Pumpkins.
The band recently signed to the French label Klonosphere for the release of their debut LP, crammed with big, bold, and brutal ideas, both musically and thematically. It was recorded in and around France’s strict lockdowns last year. Marrec explains the band’s approach to songwriting: “We work hard to combine a mix of powerful energy and catchy songs with choruses that stay in your head.”
