We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Black Tongue‘s new music video for their track “In the Wake Ov the Wolf.” The song is taken from the band’s upcoming full-length, The Unconquerable Dark,  out September 4th via Century Media Records.

The Unconquerable Dark is a devastatingly bleak record that showcases the Hull Hate Crew’s trademark downtempo sound to absolute full effect. From the opening doom drenched riffs of ‘Plague Worship’ to the black metal tinged ‘L’appel du Vide’, to the unfathomably heavy ‘Prince Of Ash’ and ‘Vermintide’ (featuring guest vocals from Suicide Silence’s Eddie Hermida), the hatred spews out of the speakers.

As stated by Black Tongue’s very own Alex Teyen, “In the Wake Ov the Wolf,” the latest and last music video to be released before The Unconquerable Dark is unleashed, is the ultimate expression of our delving further into darkness with its audiovisual hideousness:

“Where ‘L’appel Du Vide’ expressed the reach of the influences we’ve incorporated into the new sound, ‘In the Wake ov the Wolf’ is the refinement of the core of Black Tongue drenched in the trappings of the new beast we have unearthed. A beast that has been waiting to be uncovered for the last three years. We hope you will enjoy watching our descent as much as we revelled in its recording.

With The Unconquerable Dark we wanted to create something of dreadful, suffocating atmosphere. Something oppressive, dystopic and threatening. We called upon all our darkest aspects, ignored all detractors and created something that we felt fulfilled the darkness that had been growing at the backs of our minds for quite some time.

While definitely recognizable as Black Tongue, we dropped any confining pretense of genre and what was acceptable for a band in our niche, and wrote the music we enjoyed with any and all of the facets of music we had hitherto left untouched. This is the next step for Black Tongue, a step that has lead us over the precipice of a pit of unconquerable darkness.

We are beyond excited to be joining the mighty Carnifex on their 10 year anniversary tour. What an honour to be supporting one of the greatest names of the genre and personal inspirations for a lot of us on such a momentous occasion in a bands career. Not to mention on the same tour also supporting the incredible Within The Ruins with our good friends and incredible rising acts The Last Ten Seconds of Life and Lorna Shore. It’s going to be one hell of a tour and a fantastic end to the year.”
