Chris Mardini is gearing up for the release of his self-titled, debut album on October 15, and in preparation, the NYC-raised singer/songwriter is giving listeners a taste of what to expect, with the new song and video “I’ll Try.”

Mardini deliberately looked to expand on the genre-bending experimentation he often explored in his early days of making music. “I’ll Try” is also the album opener and presents a powerful introduction to Mardini’s moody, multifaceted sound.

Mardini expands on his upcoming debut record: This record embodies the versatility of reaction and reflection on given experiences. The songs hone in on an introspective way of dealing with life-changing events, and analyze the pros and cons of dealing with them in certain ways. Part of the reason why the album is so important to me is because of how flexible the content of each song is, and how that’s a reflection of how variable my mental state can be at any given moment. I can’t wait for the world to hear it.”
