Video Premiere: Don’t Worry – “Confetti”

Don't worry

New Noise Magazine is pleased to be bringing forth the exclusive video premiere for “Confetti” by Don’t Worry. The song’s guitars are a definitive highlight, rolling through with plenty of melodies and licks, bouncing off of one another behind the powerful vocals. The drums keep the structure of the song together, providing everything the other instruments need to wander through their different progressions. The music video itself is a static shot on the vocalist, painted in makeup, flowing between different emotions and props to pinpoint the song’s emotional heaviness. Take a listen and view it below and be prepared for the upcoming album Who Cares Anyway?, out June 22nd via Specialist Subject Records.

“‘Confetti’ is a song about accepting yourself and no longer having disguise that in order to please others. It’s also about how ridiculous life can feel sometimes. I named the song while I was sweeping up confetti after a wedding at work. We wanted the video to capture all of that. We also think this whole music thing could do with people taking themselves less seriously. So I dressed up as a clown and a mime and done various other dumb things. We shot the video using a borrowed camera, and the whole thing cost us £24.75 to make. We hope you like it! – Ronan of Don’t Worry

Pre-Order here!

ince forming in 2014 the band have self-released a string of EPs, toured the UK extensively, and played shows across mainland Europe and this March played their first show in New York for Sofar Sounds.

Taking influence from throughout rock and pop history, from Weezer / Dinosaur Jr to The Cure / Smiths and more modern influences like Manchester Orchestra, Kevin Devine, Elliott Smith. The band have slowly developed their sound to where they are now on their first full length, Who Cares Anyway? .

Lyrically, songs deal with navigating life as a young person in the late 2010s and all of the anxiety and uncertainty that comes with it. Using mundane observation and humour as tools for expression, the words serve as catharsis for the band’s main songwriters, Ronan and Sam. Despite a largely American sound the band retain a distinct British sensibility through the vocals and lyrical content.

Recorded and produced by long term collaborator Bob Cooper (Citizen, Self Defence Family, Nervus), and mastered by Carl Saff (Dinosaur Jr, Cloakroom, Tiny Moving Parts) over in the USA. This album is the perfect showcase for everything the band has worked towards over the past few years.
