New Noise Magazine is pleased to bring forth the energy song “Just My Luck” from Filmspeed. Accompanying the track is a sleek music video that finds the band out to get the everyday members of society. The guitars in the song are distorted with plenty of grit, amping up the atmosphere with high octane licks. The constant backing vocals and rhythmic accents give the song a poppy feel, easy to listen to and even more fun to follow along. This Detroit trio is sure to bring a smile and a highlight to your day. “Just My Luck” is off of Hexadecimal, which was released in October, 2017 via Awfully Good Records.
“Circumstances line up in such a perfect way that it can’t be reduced to coincidence. Just about every time it’s not for the better. After a whole life of this, you come to understand it’s not ‘bad luck’, just standard protocol. ‘If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have none at all.’ That barely scratches the surface of the tragic romance between us and Lady Luck. We had a blast making this video and painting the three of us as some giant organization out to get the common man. If only the reality were half as friendly.” – Filmspeed
Two parts Motown, one part Tinseltown, all parts moving. This is how Detroit power trio Filmspeed describe their intricate sound. Comprised of Craig Broomba (vocals, guitars), Nick Stout (bass, guitar, backup vocals), and Oliver Dobrian (drums, backup vocals), Filmspeed combines blood pumping anthems, melodic hooks, and soulful grooves to create a sound that is uniquely their own, as evident in their album “Hexadecimal.” The name stems on a reflection of memories and past events that tell a story from your point of view. The band explains, “[memories] always comes in bits and pieces like chopped up scenes from a movie about yourself. As more crazy things happen in this life, the more you’re living at the speed of a film; Filmspeed.”
