Video Premiere: Fime – “Hover Hand”

Fime

New Noise Magazine is pleased to be bringing forth the exclusive music video premiere for “Hover Hand” by Fime. The song is off of the upcoming release, Outside, which is being released on July 13th. The song’s driving chord progression is charged by thick guitars and a grooving bass line. The vocals ring out over everything with great strength and poise. Take a listen below and view the video!

“The video was inspired by my relationship with my dad and the disconnect between us any time he tried to explain anything to me. He has a PHD in computer science and everything was so obvious to him he couldn’t relate it to me in a way that made sense. The grainy quality of the super 8 film I think kinda helps capture the unsureness.” – Fime

Self-produced and engineered by drummer Eric Promani, “Hover Hand” reflects a more mature, emo-reminiscent sound from the band from their previous 2016 demo, “Dining.” Brakmo (guitar/vocals), who shot the video on Super 8 film, believes the medium “captures the warmth of color” and “in its imperfection illuminates the vulnerability of the song,” which he describes as about a communication breakdown with his father and lacking a mutual understanding. The self-made music video is an ideal pairing for the self-produced single and EP.
