New Noise Magazine is pleased to be bringing forth the premiere of “House For The Daying” by Gunman & The Holy Ghost.
“We wanted to make a simple video of our live set up in a legendary Berlin club ‘Bassy’ which is soon to close.” – Gunman & The Holy Ghost
Icelandic Berliner Hákon Aðalsteinsson also known together with his group as Gunman & The Holy Ghost release their new EP on legendary Berlin Psych label 8mm Musik (part of the famous 8mm bar). The song’s low growl contributes to its decadent atmosphere, really driving home a nice twang that breathes alternative country.
Influenced by old country and melancholic psychedelic rock from the links of Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and Porter Wagoner the new EP House For The Dying is a growth from the bands previous two albums.

With his musical alter ego, the Berliner has recorded two albums, which were characterized by melancholic-psychedelic old country, and have reminded both of Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave but also Porter Wagoner.
Recorded in the renowned Berlin Funkhaus and with such illustrious guests as Joe Dilworth (Stereolab), the nocturnal clumsiness stands alone on a wide corridor in the national music scene and deserves every attention it receives. Similarly, the EP format also offered the opportunity for the track My Friend Lonely as remake of Jake Holmes song ‘”Lonely”, the Led Zeppelin ingloriously used as the basis for Dazed and Confused.
When not performing as Gunman & The Holy Ghost, Hákon can be seen as the front man of his other project The Third Sound and is currently a performing guitar player with legends The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
