New Orleans band High are gearing up for the release of their upcoming EP, Unearther—set to release next month, though they are giving fans a sneak peek at the new collection of tracks today, with their new single and video, “Day Off.”
The EP was recorded in New Orleans at Hightower Studios and mostly written on the spot. High note that the recording of the EP kept the band busy for the early part of the COVID-19 lockdown last year. They plan to release the EP on Bandcamp October 1 and all other digital services on October 8, also offering a limited-run cassette on Ashtray Monument Records.
The band reflect on the making and recording of Unearther, “Last October we released an LP titled Out My Scope and since we were not able to tour during the pandemic we just focused on getting back in the studio. This EP is the result of the band and James Whitten, who recorded/coproduced it with us being out of work and not being able to gig.”
