“The video was actually shot at my work. My family owns a metal recycling yard in South Haven. It was awesome to finally be able to shoot a video there. We had been talking for years about just making a music video of us tearing things up in the scrap yard. It was a blast. Big. Loud. Rock & Roll.
Likely rolling down a highway in a busted van, Jake Simmons & the Little Ghosts have spent the last eight years traveling across the country, performing in dive bars, on festival stages, and everything in between. Similar to their homebase of Kalamazoo, Michigan, their songwriting is as blue-collar Springsteen and Stone Cold Steve Austin as it is Hold Steady-esque self-awareness with indie sensibilities. They play guitar music, fast and loud, without leaning toward irony or fashion. Always brash, always honest, usually with a middle finger to convention.
Forming in 2010, the Little Ghosts quickly began writing and touring together, releasing their first album in 2011. The group has since produced two full-length albums, as well as a handful of EPs and singles. 2018 marks the release of their 3rd full-length album, “Shake So Easy”. The record is a celebration of their first chapter as a band and the sounds that formed their style, a decidedly midwestern take on Rock & Roll influenced by artists like The Clash, Black Sabbath, Otis Redding and Tom Petty.
