Kacie Marie’s video for “Bad Luck” is powerful, psychedelic, and gorgeous. Check it out below!

As gorgeous and glittering as the video is, it’s also a little dark and twisted. Marie draws inspiration from the horror and macabre as well.

“In horror, you are able to express things that aren’t normally supposed to be expressed. There is a mixture of danger and sexuality and disgust,” she says. “There are moods that make people uncomfortable.”

Marie hopes that the music, alongside the visuals (never one without the other), will enable others to find their own superpowers.

“We want to inspire people,” Kacie Marie explains. “And help them tap into dark daydreams of their own, finding a way to express their own secrets in a safe way.”

What does she mean by in a safe way? “I think it’s important to express different layers of yourself, including the ones that are the least socially acceptable. Sometimes, it’s good to make things that scare you.”

Whoa, best video and song I’ve seen in ages. This kicks ass. Loving the art-dark world that this creates. Looking forward to more from Kacie Marie! Hopefully this is the start of something bigger.
