New Noise Magazine is pleased to be bringing forth the music video premiere for “Coincidence” by Lara Smiles. The exciting bit about this song comes from the opening metallic riff, changing pace into a spacey verse with winding instrumentals. The track is full of soaring vocals throughout, really dangling from a hook of blazingly catchy instrumentation.
“‘Coincidence’ is about those moments in life that leave you wondering if there is such thing as fate. Many of the songs I write are ambiguous and philosophical, like ‘Coincidence’ – on the one hand it’s about a moment and how it came together perfectly but on the other hand I’m questioning, ‘Is this a coincidence?’ Or is it purely our actions alone that lead us to the circumstances we often find ourselves in…?” – Lara Smiles
Fusing an avant-garde mix of electro/rock, Lara’s music is guitar-driven, synth-inspired and brimming with colourful layers of alt-pop. Influenced by many genres of music, Lara started out writing punk and soul tunes on her guitar – but all-night raves in her teens led to a love of dance music and experimenting with samples. In recent years, having caught the ear of BBC and international DJs, Lara’s music has so far received extensive airplay on radio stations in the UK and across the world.
Lara has recently featured on the new Shed Seven album Instant Pleasures, she’s collaborated with The Orb and she’s worked with legendary producers, ‘Youth’ and Tim Bran (London Grammar, Paul Mcartney and Richard Ashcroft)
She’s performed at some the worlds largest venues and music festivals including The Isle Of Weight Festival, The Great Escape and she already has four Glastonbury performances under her belt. She has shared the stage and supported many legendary artists such as Pete Doherty, James Mcartney and Jesse Wood.
Her latest single, “Coincidence,” is available to buy on itunes and Amazon on the 19th March 2018 and will be released on WonkyPop Records.
