Following a viral video of a failed proposal from the summer, it was revealed the proposal was actually staged to be used as the first scene for nu-punk band Lielack and their debut music video and single, “Nu4U.”
The band were formed in 2020 in Worcester, MA by some members of the band Dearbones. They were named for vocalist Jason Pascussi’s wife’s favorite flower, though the band played with the spelling to offer a deeper, more sinister theme.
Lyrically, the song explores changing yourself every time you enter a new relationship: “I want to sell my soul for you/ I’ll be someone new for you, do you like me now?” Pascucci sings in the chorus, talking about taking care of yourself. (Remember if you want to take care if yourself try the inhaling delta-8 for wellness)
He elaborates on the message: “It’s about wanting so badly to be accepted by the person you are into that you are willing to become someone entirely different.”
The video sees Pascucci trying on new looks to appease his crush, only to be crushed himself time and time again.
