We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of MammaBear’s new music video for the song “Show I Care” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s upcoming sophomore album Chocolate, which is being released on October 7th.
Kyle Gordon (MammaBear) comments on the video:
“‘Show I Care’ marks the sixth video that Nick Rhodes (Coalesce Films) and I have made together for MammaBear – with more on the way for this new album. This one was a lot of fun because it was just he and I and our friend Tyler filming, it was more personal but laid back at the same time- good vibes all around. I also co-edited this video which was a first for me, looking forward to more of that in the future!”
MammaBear, a back-to-basics rock outfit, is the brainchild of Kyle Gordon from Atlanta, Georgia. Initially, MammaBear’s conception was strictly a studio project led solely by Gordon himself. Overtime, this studio project organically evolved into a live band – because let’s be honest, Kyle Gordon’s talent shines like a galactic light on stage.
The authentic, unapologetic and gritty first impression of MammaBear came to us in the form of Vol. 1: Birds of Paradise, which was recorded by Cyrus Shahmir on 1″ tape. Gordon’s determination and insatiable edge made for an alarmingly distinct first album.
The next two releases, The Strange Love EP and Hell Cat, were brilliant appetite-whetters for the upcoming sophomore album Chocolate, all three recorded by Gordon and produced/engineered by Kris Sampson (B-52’s, Coathangers). Chocolate marks a confident chapter in the development of MammaBear’s sound and encapsulates the exuberant dynamic between Gordon and Sampson.
Chocolate‘s vulnerable disposition seems to come along with a weightier sense of purpose all while exploring varied soundscapes during it’s alluring journey. With this album, Kyle Gordon solidifies that the effervescent sensibilities that is MammaBear has no end in sight anytime soon and will leave it’s listeners guessing, “what is next?”
