New Noise Magazine is bringing a video premiere of the song “Skye” by a new project from Tom Etts. When he’s not fronting melodic post-hardcore outfit In Angles, Etts’ is the moving factor behind Model Homes. Combining intricate guitar riffs with smooth R&B style melodies, the music reflects the years he has spent on his songwriting craft. The newest track is “Skye” and the track features an incredible control of guitar noodling with vocals over the top. It’s soothing.
Despite being a solo project at its inception, Model Homes will house a backing band on select tracks and feature guest musicians from all over the country. Their first release is a split EP with the artist Summer Wall, which will be put out in February on NJ DIY collective Choke Artist. “Skye” is the first song to come out by Model Homes.
