Video Premiere: Moral Mazes – Illinois by Numbers

I’m sure many of you are in a reflective mood this morning. Even though it’s literally my job to tell you to listen to some track or watch some video by such and such band blah blah blah, I’m being entirely sinecer when I say that I feel like Moral Mazes are helping me get through something inside my head right now. This may be because reverby, punky guitar rock a la Lemonheads and Swervedriver were the kinds of bands I listened to a lot in college while I was “finding myself” and had a lot of down time to just sit and think. And that means that this cathartic moment could just be a “me” thing right now, but if bands who broke in the immediate post-Nevermind era are your thing, then definitely give Moral Mazes a try. We’re premiering their video for “Illiniose By Numbers” below:

“Illinois By Numbers” will appear on the band’s upcoming self-titled 7″ out November 6th, 2020 on Little Rocket Records and Rad Girlfriend Records.

Moral Mazes is the studio project of a few punk scene vets who cut their teeth in bands like Jawbox and The Bomb, and already have one 7″ under their belt. For each release, the main vocals are taken on by a new individual, for their debut, this durty was handled by Jonah Matranga (Far, Onelinedrawing).

For their second and forthcoming 7″ Moral Mazes have teamed with Michael Feerick (Amusement Parks on Fire) to do the honors of providing vocals for the album.

Moral Mazes is:
Jeff Dean: Guitar (Airstream Futures, The Bomb, All Eyes West, Dead Ending)
Darren Zentek: Drums (Office of Future Plans)
J. Robbins: Bass (Jawbox, Burning Airlines).
