We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Old Notes’ music video for their song “Earthworms” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s latest release Former Self, which is available through Bandcamp and iTunes.
Old Notes vocalist/guitarist Devin Trott comments on the song:
“The song itself is an introspective look into a time where it was hard to get out of bed or have the drive to do anything. It had a lot to do with the toxic, parasitic friends I was surrounding myself with.
The video is an opportunity for us to show you how new experiences like being in this band are helping us move past something dark. Each of us now surround ourselves with better people and we live more fulfilled lives because of it.”
California trio Old Notes has big plans on the horizon and a new record to fuel the ride. In their August 2016 debut, Former Self, the band seamlessly blended elements of emo and ambient rock, with twinges of pop-punk instrumentals to create a powerful breakthrough record.
Comprised of Devin Trott (guitar/vocals), Justin Marquez (bass/vocals), and Eli Martinez (drums/percussion), emo/pop-punk outfit Old Notes formed in April 2016. After entering the studio a few months later, they created Former Self, a record that is lyrically raw and honest, complemented sonically with wailing guitars and urgent percussions. The band’s experiences and views on emotional disconnect, toxic relationships, and societal expectations coalesce to create a voice that is both heartbreaking and hopeful.Their energetic live shows are a testament to their dynamic and rousing nature, as well as the environment of inclusivity they strive to promote through music. With eclectic musical influences and a wealth of varying life experiences to draw from, the trio have formed a sound all their own.
