Rushing Spring are premiering their new video, “Stars and Circles,” exclusively at New Noise.
The Danbury, Connecticut band formed in 2018, blending indie pop with emo and pop pun to create their unique sound. They’ve hit the blogosphere and toured regionally, eager to show the world how they’ve grown sonically and moving steadily into the future.
Rushing Springs worked with Mat Kerekes of Citizen on “Stars and Circles,” with Kerekes mixing and mastering the track. Rushing Spring lead singer and rhythm guitarist Austin Gold opens up about the track and aims behind it:
“‘Stars and Circles’ was written during the pandemic, reflecting the past, the present, while remaining hopeful for the future. It touches on my sobriety, my mental health issues—but also the sheer joy of living. I suppose there’s a vast duality to it all- pain, suffering, happiness, and elation. ‘Stars and Circles,’ in that way, I guess, is a slice of life, a glimpse of a moment. There was a lot of uncertainty during the pandemic, and ‘Stars and Circles’ is a hopeful snapshot of that, reminding us to stay grounded, stay present, but dream—and screw it, DREAM BIG.”
