Video Premiere: Spirit – “Ghosts Of What We Used To Be”

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Spirit’s new music video for their song “Ghosts Of What We Used To Be” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s Eternal Love EP, which is scheduled for release on October 8th.

Spirit vocalist Sumner comments: “This song is the start of the final decay of the relationship. Cove doesn’t understand why Senna is so hot and cold. Senna has a fear of letting people in, and it breaks them apart. Cove feels like a ghost to Senna, and you can visually see his distraught in the video.”

Here is a journal entry from Cove that gives the song more context:

Dear Senna,

I’m feeling like saliva spit from the mouth. My body longs for yours like a home I never knew I needed. Tonight was the last time I could believe the words that left your tongue without consequence. I carried the weight of your words that were weightless in your mind. Napalm to my skin I let you sink in. It has felt like eternity trying. I can’t do this anymore. Sitting on my bed more anxious than I’ve ever been. Sifting through memories in photographs. My senses can’t handle the roller coaster. I have to let you go. I have to let go.

Goodbye and Goodnight Love.
