New Noise Magazine is pleased to be bringing forth this tripped out music video for “Rattlesnake” by the band Squid Cult. The tune is an absolute banger with rocking licks, incredible drumming patterns and a high octane attitude. The energy bounces with every drum hit and crawls through every guitar strum. The aesthetic of the song is brought together by the video, which can be viewed below. “Rattlesnake” is off of the upcoming release, All Boys Leave Home Someday Album out on Septarian Records, August 3, 2018.
“‘Rattlesnake’ is the result of an unexpected run in with the biggest rattlesnake I have ever seen. My heart leapt out of my chest. But I found I couldn’t leave. I kept staring at the thing. Two steps forward and I’d be dead. If I turned around, I’d go back to my friends and live. Of course, I eventually turned around and essentially ran back. With the remaining adrenaline, I wrote this song about someone who didn’t turn around.” ~ Daniel Talton
“We had a big, elaborate vision for this video. And then everything fell through. We had exactly one day to put something together, so we rented a 1974 Volkswagen The Thing, asked our friends to star, and ran out to Joshua Tree. The resulting romp through human sacrifice, slime, and shaving cream was completely improvised in 20 degree weather. Along the way we ran out of gas in the middle of the desert, lost a wallet, and probably all caught colds. But the resulting video is something we are all extremely proud of. Luckily, we the best team in the world!”
