New Noise Magazine is pleased to bring forth the beautifully symbolic music video for the song “So Poetic” by Sundressed. The song burns with a fit of quick drums and soaring vocal melodies intertwining the progressions together. The chorus is a slamming stop and go, punching forward with a collection of syncopated instruments. The bridge retracts from the distortion a bit, giving Sundressed breathing room in their dynamics. The video winds through the halls of high school with the narrator trying to find out just who they are and if they are in the right place. “So Poetic” is off of the upcoming split between the band and Nominee, out on June 8th via Outerloop Records.
“‘So Poetic’ is about feeling out of place in your social surroundings and looking for someone else who understands. This song was a lot of fun to experiment with different sounds and textures. It was also super fun to have Forest do some of the lead vocals. This was the first video we’ve done with Jesse Lobell as the director and he was incredible . Please enjoy and always remember to reach out for help if you need it.” – Trevor (Sundressed)
Sundressed was initially created, in part, to help vocalist & songwriter Trevor Hedges maintain sobriety. Years later, the calm of a sober life has allowed Hedges to take his struggles and successes and refocus them to a broader scope. What’s truly remarkable is that he’s managed to achieve this without straying away from his signature mixture of self-deprecation and eager determination. What’s left is an uplifting take on the heavier aspects of life, inspiring hope without treading into trite or conceived territory.
