Video Premiere: The Mendozaz – ‘Murder’

The Mendozaz

The Mendozaz have been around for a minute, or 1,570,800 minutes, to be exact. Formed in 2017, the riotous, pop-punk trio started out as a side project with low expectations.

“Do some shows, and then we done,” kinda deal. Then, all of their other bands broke up, and now only The Mendozaz remains. This is a dandy development as far as we’re concerned because they rule pretty hard!

The Mendozaz are gearing up for their second full-length album Up And At Them, ready to drop in 2021. It’s a half hour of chaos infused with the same carefree, “anything-goes-as-long-as-it’s-fun” attitude that made the first album a staple on punk playlists.

You can check out our premiere of one of the songs from their forthcoming album and a nifty new video below:

On their song and video “Murder,” guitarist/vocalist Jonny Mendoza informes us that it was conceived as follows:

“… Atmosphere was the number-one thing for me driving this song. I wanted to combine the punk aesthetic with elements of horror and film noir and see what came of it …”
