We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Thisistoodifficult’s new music video for their song “Used To You” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s album If You Decide To Go, which is available now through Close Quarters Coalition. The video was directed by Nathan Sanchez (Azriel.tv), and the music was produced by Phillip Odom (Bad Wolf Recordings).
“Nathan Sanchez and I began conceptualizing the video about two months ago. We didn’t want to follow a strict narrative, but we didn’t want to seem aimless, either. We just wanted the aesthetics to complement the song as much as possible with a focus on color. We decided the video would subtly revolve around my windbreaker as a ‘token’ that added direction to the video. All of my scenes were originally shot in different locations, but one night it rained and we decided it would add another layer of depth to the tone of the video.” – Rafa, on filming “Used To You”
The Laredo, TX trio, Thisistoodifficult, released If You Decide To Go as a follow up to their debut EP. The band builds strength in their twinkling melody and catchy choruses, which have been compared to Northstar and Brand New.
Thisistoodifficult’s origins as Rafa Puebla’s solo project expanded with the addition of bandmates Julian Martinez (bass) and Marcus Fernandez (drums) in the writing process, whose song craft give If You Decide To Go a compositional complexity matured from the acoustic-turned-full-band writing style of the S/T.
