Minneapolis pop punkers Tightwire have stayed busy with shows, though they are ready to keep the party going with their new single and video, “Anyone But You.”
It’s a catchy punk song and is paired with a fun B-side, acting as a sweet ear worm listeners get to enjoy while they await the band’s next move.
The band answered a few questions as they released the video and gear up for their new tour:
What was the writing and recording process like for this new material?
Tane had moved to Boston about a year ago, and just started writing songs while he was out there. I think it’s the best stuff we’ve ever done, honestly. Recording it was easy: Tane tracked all the guitar parts and vocals out in Boston in his home studio, then we brought the tracks to TreeSpeak Studios here in Minneapolis to record drums and then mix and master it
How excited are you to get back on the road, and what can fans expect?
Very happy about it! It’s been way too long, and we miss all your awesome faces. You can expect us to rip a lot of stuff from Six Feet Deep, and we’re gonna play three new songs each night too. Woohoo!
What else do you have in the works coming up?
We have a new record in the works! Hopefully, it’ll be out by Spring? Have half of it done, just gotta finish the other half. Hopefully some more tours in the winter and spring.
