Video Premiere: Time King – “Main Street”

Time King band 2017

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Time King’s music video for their song “Main Street” (watch it below). “Main Street” serves as the entrance to Time King’s forthcoming project The 1955 Collection. Starting with their upcoming EP, Frontierland, the album will be comprised of 4 separate EPs as well as interrelated singles to be released throughout the next year.

The band comments on the song:

“‘Main Street’ is the first step down a new creative avenue (pun only somewhat intended) for the band that will unfold in multiple installments over the next year or two, collectively coined ‘The 1955 Collection.’ The song is about how attractive, even addictive, nostalgia can be. It’s about the process of coming across something or someone that ‘makes you feel like a kid again,’ and how that ‘magic’ that you harken back to is very much an active foundation of who you are today.”

Filmed by Nico Moreno (UK Glamour, Italian Vanity Fair), “Main Street” evokes the colorful nostalgia of childhood – specifically the distinctive aura of Disneyland. Using projectors and home footage, as well as colors, textures and silhouettes, Time King created a “Fantasia-esque blurring of reality.”

The Long Island five-piece, self-described as “party prog. Modern Rock-Jazz, Music for your inner nerd and your inner party girl,” is preparing to release their new album The 1955 Collection. The project consists of 4 EPs as well as interrelated singles, all to be released throughout 2017. “Main Street” serves as the literal and figurative opening to the entire collection. The track was produced by the band’s bassist James “Jimmy T” Meslin (Dream Theater, Kevin Devine) and mastered by Steve Fallone (The Strokes, TV On The Radio, Seal).

Founded by members Brandon Dove (guitar) and Shayne Plunkett  (vocals/guitar) at a Berklee College of Music summer program in 2012, Time King has been actively carving a place for themselves in the prog rock scene. While their initial collaboration’s landed them deals with NBC Universal and The USA Network, the band’s debut official full-length release, 2015’s Suproe garnered praise from Huffington Post, Nerdist and Kill The Music.
