On July 3, we can get excited about the new Time Thieves album, Flicker of Light, out via Anxious & Angry. Check it out with us now.

“We chose Flicker of Light to be the first song on this record because if you like it, there’s a good chance you’ll like the rest of the album,” Jonathan Pool says. “The accompanying video for the song is the first in a series of four, and I guess I’d say the same thing about that, too. If you like it, you’ll probably like the rest of them. If you don’t, it’s totally fine to move on! Thanks for stopping by either way.”

Time Thieves, guitar-driven power pop from Chicago, are Annie (This is My Fist/Ambition Mission), Jonathan (Brickfight),  Lilly (Chicken Happen), Mike (Sass Dragons/Rad Payoff), and Tim (Horrible Things/Hospital Job). Maybe you saw their other bands and thought they seemed cooler than you, and totally unapproachable. Then you met them and found out they’re totally down-to-earth and into the same dumb stuff you’re into.

That’s Time Thieves for you—a collective of people who in their “regular” bands get angular, dissonant, and angry, and PBR-soaked or whatever, but here, just craft perfect power-pop songs that simultaneously seem as if you’ve both heard them before and never experienced anything like them.
