New Noise Magazine is pleased to bring the tripped out, hazy psychedelic music video for “Venus” by Woven In Hiatus. The dream pop song utilizes air bending guitars that slide through the rhythmic patterns with a wonderful amount of delicacy. The vocals tap dance around the melody with their wispy tone, giving the song a floating through the spring air tension. It’s light, airy but easy to feel like the world is a daydream. Which is better than the real world at times. Take a view to the colorful experience below and get lost within “Venus.” The song is off of an up and coming release from the group, to be released this year.
“‘Venus’ is a song that represents this past year of growth and development we’ve experienced as musicians. We wanted to transition into a sound and style that has no creative limitations, bringing elements of experimental electronic music and dreampop into our writing and production. The song itself is meant to create a dream like atmosphere, and set a tone to deliver thematic messages about our subliminal thoughts and how sometimes we bury our raw emotions and feelings for practicality.
The video pays homage to one of my favorite films of all times ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, which we thought
would be a fitting visualization to accompany thoughts about exploring subliminal emotions.”
Woven In Hiatus is a four piece dreampop outfit originally from Boston, MA that now resides in Nashville, TN. Their music draws influence from a wide spectrum of styles and flavors, combining driving rhythms with washed out, transcendental guitars and haunting melodies. Lyrically the band focuses on honest expression, thematically grounded in the passage of time and the eventual need to let go of what once was.
