Video Spotlight: Dropout Kings – ‘Hey Uh’

Dropout Kings

Phoenix-based band Dropout Kings are sharing their new video for the track “Hey Uh,” and you can watch the video right here at New Noise.

The video follows the band’s recent Grammy consideration for “Best New Artist,” along with achieving mainstream rock radio success with their Linkin Park-leaning single “Virus,” which spent 12 weeks on the Billboard Top 40 Mainstream Rock Radio Charts.

The band first started at Phoenix Down in 2016 and have already garnered millions of streams from their debut album, AudioDope, which was released in 2018.

The new single, “Hey Uh,” acts as a sort of blueprint for other acts aspiring to embrace the trap metal sound, fusing dark and distorted beats with haunting synthesizers, scream-rap delivery, and an all-around gritty exterior. It’s the band’s first single on Suburban Noize Records and will appear on their second full-length album, Riot Music, which is slated for a summer 2022 release.

“It’s a rage anthem,” says vocalist Adam Ramey. “It’s a song about feeling unstoppable to the point of arrogance, which in turn, is a metaphor for social political programming that happens throughout America which causes us as a society to sometimes be looked at and stereotyped in that light by others on the outside.”
