We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Wolf Cellar’s music video for their song “Lonely Dancer” (watch it below). The band commented on the song:
‘Lonely Dancer’ – She’s alone, yes. Should this make her prey? An easy target for the oh so familiar predator of the track’s verses? This is a commentary on something that we’re sick to the stomach of hearing and reading about. Girl walks alone, seemed a bit stumbly, skirt was a bit short. ‘Body found. See girls, you need to be careful out there’. Until things shift and the rhetoric changes, the commentary will only get louder. We wanted the message to be the loudest and the clearest yet in ‘Lonely Dancer.’ We hope it is heard.
7th May – Monarch, Camden (the day this comes out!)
29th May – New Cross Inn, New Cross,
27th July – Wonkfest at Tuffnell Park
28th June – Apple & Parrot, Torquay
19th October – Le Pub, Newport
About the band:
While the collegiate powerhouse that is the University of Oxford may seem like an unlikely birthing place for an alt-rock band, here we are.
Originally, drummer Creamer and vocalist Rachel had bonded over their shared music tastes at university, so when Creamer was looking to form a band after a move to London, Rach was the first person he called. London’s thriving live music scene provided the perfect backdrop and after finding guitarists Matt and Dan and bassist Guy, the line-up was cemented.
Following a recording session with producer John Mitchell (Enter Shikari, Funeral for a Friend, Architects, You Me At Six), Wolf Cellar are planning a year of noise with the release of a new EP, and further recording to flesh out Wolf Cellar’s first full length record.
